My first month at work:
- Locked myself out of my computer on the first day
- Got a traffic ticket
- Almost burned down the building trying to microwave a can of porridge
- Called the HelpDesk almost every day for the first week. Felt sorry for the staff member who kept picking up my calls so decided to email the HelpDesk instead; unfortunately, the same staff member responded to my email
- Kept entering the wrong door trying to get back to my cubicle (stupid architects who designed a hexagonal building)
- Had to reassure a parent that her daughter is not at a greater risk of contracting swine flu from living in a triple with a private bathroom
